Conflict is everywhere. It is enough to make someone who claims to believe in the resurrection hesitate for a second. But God isn't done with this world yet and God isn't done with us. Peace! God desires peace for us. Shalom. Matthew 5 offers a picture of what we are supposed to do with all this conflict (even if we are more apt to participate than respond).
