A Ministry Announcement

On June 10th, I will no longer be the Chaplain at Birmingham-Southern College.  After much prayer and consideration, I've chosen to return to a local congregation.

I have been honored beyond words to be involved in the mission of BSC, the ministry we've shared together, and the friends and colleagues I've made that will continue to be important to me for the rest of my life.  I would like to think that I'll always be Chaplain to those who were with me at BSC but now they'll have another, as well!  Thankfully, another wonderful pastor has been chosen to be our next Chaplain.  Rev. Julie Holly will officially begin June 10th and I am excited about what she is going to bring to the college.  She is a 2001 graduate, was previously appointed to Canterbury United Methodist Church, and is married to Rev. Mike Holly.  They have two kids, Lena (9) and Davis (5).

June 10th, I'll be appointed pastor to Oakmont United Methodist Church in Homewood.  I'm excited about what God has done and will continue to do in this church.  I've grown to love the Homewood community and believe this is going to be such a great thing for the Kingdom of God, the church, and for my family.  Good things are ahead because God is good.  For now, I am going to grieve leaving BSC and look forward to ministry with the awesome folks at Oakmont.

The official announcement has been posted on the Conference website today (http://www.umcna.org/postdetail/1010157) and will be announced by BSC tomorrow.

Blessings, friends!
