Daniel Garrett's Senior Reflection

How honest are you about your foundations?  Daniel confesses to some realizations he's had at BSC.  Using Matthew 7:24-27, and pondering whether Jesus is a superhero, makes for a great senior reflection.  Check it out.

Kemian Carson's Senior Reflection

What people have helped define who you are?  What events show your true colors?  Kemian (Kemo) talks about why he is who he is and what BSC has to do with it.

Shay Gibson's Senior Reflection

Shay Gibson gets things done.  And often those "things" are for someone else.  In her Senior Reflection, Shay uses Romans 8:37-39 to show how God has helped her, and continues to.

Shannon Thompson's Senior Reflection

You know those folks who are always happy? Shannon Thompson is one of them. But maybe you should know her better? She uses Romans 8:18-28 in her Senior Reflection to talk about how/why she got so gregarious.

Sean Orr's Senior Reflection

Sean Orr presented his Senior Reflection and used Mark 12:29-31.  Proud of Sean and know he'll do great things as he leaves BSC!  May we live into the hope that Sean has for this school.

As the wise Beavis once said, "Fire! Fire!" - you may not have caught that pop reference but I certainly hope you have heard of the burning bush. Nevermind that it is burning. The thing SPEAKS and it calls... listen to this sermon and see if you hear it.

The Transfiguration can be confuuuusing. So we brought in a BSC alum to straighten it out for us. Rev. Drew Clayton guest preaches on Matthew 17.

You know what fear is?  Clowns.  Just kidding.  Psalm 27 paints a picture of some things that we are *really* afraid of.  But surely God doesn't want us to be afraid, right?  Listen to this sermon to find out.

Salt. Light. We know what those are. We are big fans, after-all. So we think we know what Jesus means when he says we should be those for the world. But do we? Listen and find out.

Are Christians unjust? Unkind?  Are those labels unfair?  Well, what does God require of you?  Micah 6:1-8 has a lot to say about it and so does this sermon.

Can't have Christmas without... candy canes? Trees? Fruitcake? Nope. John the Baptist. This sermon will hopefully prepare us all for Advent better.

There are plenty of things that stand between us and the life we know we can live in Christ. One of those mountains? Time. When Jesus says he's coming back it is nothing short of a promise about time. Listen to this sermon to find out about that promise.

Where do we turn when mountains fall down around us?  Who do we go to when wars tear apart our lives?  What do we do when we lose loved ones?

We need a refuge.  This sermon is about Psalm 46.

Christians are really good at fighting. We are pretty good at running. But are we good at loving like Jesus? Using Walter Wink's exegesis of Luke 6 (and Matthew 5-7) I encourage students to seek the most important Kingdom Value.

Persistence.  It can overcome injustice.  It can overcome people who don't care about God or what other people think.  Bottom line?  It's the bee's knees.  Listen to the sermon if you don't believe me.

Here's a Kingdom Value for you: Restoration.  For some reason we think we have to re-invent everything because all the "old" things haven't worked.  That isn't what Paul encouraged the Corinthians to do.  And it wasn't what I encourage in this sermon.

How much faith do you have?  Enough?  Want some more?  In Luke 17, Jesus has a "word" for folks that think they deserve (or need) extra attention.  For me, I'm just continuing a series on Kingdom values... one such value is stretching your faith.

We are so good at drawing lines.  So when we see a passage in the Bible that does that for us, we hop on in.  But what if Jesus' point was that we shouldn't draw lines?  Luke 16:19-31

Money money money.  We love it, hate it, and generally feel powerless to release the grasp it has on us.  Jesus loved to talk about money, and even suggested Christians should be using it to change the world.  Hear what I think about that in this sermon.

We like to ask people if they believe in the resurrection. But what do Christians mean when we say WE do? We've just fallen into going through the motions. Hear what James 1:22-25 has to say about that.
